Today, while renewable energy sources are of great importance, solar energy—one of the renewable energy sources—is used in photovoltaic systems (solar panels). The iron content of the solar glass used in photovoltaic systems is lower compared to flat glass. The most important feature of solar glass is that it has a higher light transmittance than flat glass. The feature that enables this light transmittance in solar glass is the Anti-Reflective (AR) coating. By preventing the reflection of the sun's rays, the Anti-Reflective coating increases the light transmittance of the glass.
