Founded in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, in 2015 by Sinan Tuncer and Oğuzhan Aydın after winning a national architectural competition, Lift is an architectural practice built on a production-focused approach that values the potential tension of the production process and the multidimensional void created by this tension. By pursuing the meaning-context relationship born from place, Lift pursues an architecture that will perpetuate its value and replicate itself over time, rather than its physical presence. It aims to achieve a design not by pre-conceived notions, but by incorporating conditions, actors, and possibilities.
