Through subprocesses such as trimming, bending, tempering, partial tempering, lamination, coating, double glazing, and mirroring, Şişecam Clear Flat Glass is turned into a material that can meet many different needs including safety and security, noise control, heat control, solar control, heat and solar control, and decoration.

• Şişecam produces high-quality flat glass using float technology, the world standard in flat glass production.
• Flat (float) glass is obtained by floating glass melting on molten tin.
• The glass blend, a mixture of raw materials with certain properties and quantities, (notably sand, soda, and limestone), is melted in the furnace at approximately 1600°C. The glass melt is poured from the furnace into the molten tin bath at approximately 1100° and by floating the glass on the tin, the two faces are ensured to be flawless and parallel to each other, while creating a glass thickness and a ribbon width. Once the glass ribbon comes out from the tin bath without interruption, its temperature is lowered in a controlled manner and the stress within the glass is relieved in the cooling section. The glass is then cut into the desired sizes on the cutting line, collected in packages, and made ready for shipment.

Şişecam Clear Flat Glass production is carried out following TS EN 572-2 Glass in building - Basic soda lime silicate glass products - Part 2: Float glass.
