• It is a flammable thermoplastic. The auto-ignition temperature is 400°C. Can ignite with flame at 250°C.
• Its surface is copper-hard, it can be scratched with brush and sandpaper.
• It has a bright appearance in all its transparent and colored forms.
• Its durability under atmospheric conditions is higher than all other plastics. For this reason, it can be used in wide application areas, indoors and outdoors, in very different climatic conditions.
• Chemical resistance:
- Sulfuric acid 60% - Resistant at 60°C
- Hydrochloric acid - Resistant at 60°C
- Nitric acid 60% - Resistant at 60°C
- Acetic acid - soluble
- Caustic soda 50% - Resistant at 60°C
- Aqueous ammonia 18% - Resistant at 60°C
- Chlorinated water (bleach) - change in dark colors
- Iodized water - change in dark colors
• Solvent resistance (at room temperature):
- Resistant to hexane, octane, methanol, 40% formaldehyde and petroleum
- Less resistant to butanol, isopropanol and carbon tetrachloride
- Unstable to chloroform, benzene, toluene, xylene, acetone, acetic esters
